Canberra Chronicle doing its part to save the bees

I can only assume that the Canberra Chronicle is designed with beekeepers in mind. Not only does it make for great home delivered smoker fuel, when opened, it’s almost exactly Langstroth dimensions.

Next time you’re merging colonies / swarms, you can use two or three opened Chronicle pages between the two colonies. Once the hive boxes are stacked with the paper in-between, trim any excess to avoid moisture wicking in if it rains… and you’re done.

Wait a few days, and shredded paper will start to appear at the front of the hive
